I’m usually pretty hands on with my F430, done oil changes and even swapped the alternator myself last year, but this battery situation is giving me a headache because apparently you need to recode the IBS unit if you disconnect the old one or the car goes into some kind of limp mode. Rang the dealership and they quoted me a price that made my eyes water just for a simple battery swap, so now I’m looking at alternatives. Stumbled across https://batteryzoneuae.com/ferrari-battery-replacement/ while Googling late last night and it looks like they come to you with diagnostics and everything, but I can’t tell if they actually do the programming or just drop in a battery and hope for the best. Has anyone in here actually used them or someone similar for a modern Ferrari? I really don’t want to be that guy who tries to save a few hundred bucks and ends up frying a control module, but at the same time the dealer markup feels like robbery for a job that takes fifteen minutes with the right scanner.
