So my 2019 Civic’s AC decided to give up on the hottest week of the year, because of course it did. It’s still blowing air but it’s barely cool, definitely not cold enough for our summer. I took it to the dealership and they quoted me 600 dirhams just to do a diagnostic, and then said it could be anything from a simple recharge to a compressor replacement costing thousands. I love the car but I’m not made of money. A friend recommended looking for a Best Honda Repair Workshop Dubai that specializes in Japanese cars, because apparently the dealer markup on AC parts is ridiculous and independent shops can do the same job for half the price. Has anyone here had a good experience with a Honda specialist in Dubai for AC work? I’m nervous about taking it to a random garage that might use the wrong refrigerant or overcharge the system and cause more damage. Also curious if anyone else with a 10th gen Civic has had AC issues – I’ve read online that these cars have known evaporator problems but I’m hoping it’s something simpler like just low on gas. Would really appreciate any recommendations for honest Honda mechanics who won’t rip me off. Thanks.
